Katy and Holden
In honor of it being 1 full year we are blogging one of the top 10 weddings of all time at Bradford Farm today!
Happy anniversary you guys!
Katy and Holden, I really don’t even have the words to describe how absolutely precious these two are. Town Creek is home for most of us here at Bradford Farms but just across the river the town of Lexington can be called home for us too. We love celebrating couples from this tiny town with a big heart. We have kinda seen them grow up, then we get to take senior portraits, we are now celebrating weddings of sweet Lexington couples, and we have even captured families growing with babies and we can't wait to see what the future holds for our latest Lexington couple, Katy and Holden.
Katy hands down could win the title of the ideal bride for ANY vendor, she is organized, on top of everything but at the same time when we asked her on the day of her wedding if we could scatter rose petals down the aisle she quickly said “I am for whatever you all think!’ so we went to work scattering petals. Katy chose the Treasured Forest for her May 23rd wedding. Katy’s sweet daddy helped her with her vision and brought in cut tree stumps to line the aisle, our floral team topped the stumps with cellar vases filled with greenery and cylinder vases with floating candles. The ceremony took place under our wood cut arch with draped white linens, greenery and gorgeous arrangements of white and quicksand roses.
Katy chose a soft sage green for her bridal party, each girl chose their own style of dress that fit their personality. Katy’s dress was simply sweet! Her dress fit her personality as well, it was a beautiful white A-line dress with lace detail and plunging neckline that was tasteful and modest just like sweet Katy. The mother of the bride wore a stunning one shoulder purple gown with gathered detail and just enough sparkle with the mother of the groom sporting a pale pink one shoulder dress with ruffle detail. With all the men decked out in gray suits this wedding party sure did make a photographer's dream come true with the candid and still shots she was able to capture.
A huge crowd of over 250 gathered for the celebration of the newly couple. Everyone was laughing and smiling and ecstatic about coming together to create this new family. Tears began to flow when the brother of the groom and father of the bride took the floor for their speeches. Southern Skillet served up some of their best menu items and there were tons of good reviews that were said about the food that night. Gus Spears of Universal Events and Productions was the DJ for the reception while the UNA string quartet played for the ceremony.
Traditional vanilla and chocolate cakes were the beautiful centerpieces for the reception and enjoyed by all. Guests danced the night away and just before we closed the doors for the night we collected the crowd on the patio area for a sparkler exit but we let the bride and groom enjoy a last dance. Alone inside the venue with the lights off with just string and accent lights glowing alongside the candlelit, allowing our bride and groom to have this last moment together on their wedding day has become a tradition here at Bradford Farms and we love it!
Katy and Holden, gosh we love you both! We are thankful you chose to celebrate this exciting time in your lives with your family and friends here at Bradford Farms and we hope you feel like this is a second home to you! We are eager to see how the new Weathers family grows in years to come!
