The flour girl and the plumber made a match in heaven!
Makenzie Holley landed her man on Saturday, September 4th, 2021 on a perfect day at Bradford Farms.
Kenzie and Andrew are familiar faces for us at Bradford Farms so when they chose to tie the knot with us we were over the moon. Their wedding day was one filled with sentimental touches and details galore.
Let’s start with rehearsal-Andrew gifted his bride with a past, present, and future ring that was the brides mothers. On the wedding day there were special details that the bride wanted to incorporate to make the day a little more special. She had a set of her grandmother’s pearls wrapped around her bouquet, Andrew gifted her with another piece of jewelry that was special. He took Kenzie’s grandmothers engagement ring and had the diamond made into a necklace for her. The bride wasn’t the only sentimental one, the groom had his grandfather’s 56’ Dodge brought to the venue for photos. He has been working on it in his spare time but didn’t quite get it finished for the big day but it was still important for him to have it there. His grandaddy bought it in 57’ and left his wedding to Andrew’s grandmother in it, Andrew’s mom was brought home from the hospital in that car so having it at his wedding day was extra special.
Kenzie was a shining star in both of her dresses but we couldn’t pick which one we loved the most. Her gowns were from Bella’s Bridal & Formal in Hoover, AL. One dress Kenzie wore for her first look, wedding party photos and the reception. She surprised her groom as the doors of the chapel were opened in her second dress. Andrew gets extra points for noticing and his face showing his excitement, it would be likely that some grooms are so nervous that they might have missed it but not Andrew!
The ceremony took place inside our open air chapel nestled in the fields. Greenery and candles lined the isle and free flowing florals in whites and the palest of blush trailed from floor to ceiling around our antique stained glass windows. Center of the ceremony stood a walnut stained cross that the groom himself built and plans on keeping in the family for years to come.
After the ceremony the bride and groom were swept away for sunset photos, dinner, and of course changing into dress #2 for the reception. Guests feasted on an Italian menu from Southern Skillet and for dessert cheesecakes with all the toppings you could imagine were on the groom’s table and the bride herself made the four tiered wedding cake that was center stage at the reception. Kenzie also gave full freedom to us at Bradford farms so we tested some new layouts and ideas. Head table laid out in a “x” formation was lined with black linens, gold charges, floating candles, greenery and the center was set with towering heights of white floral arrangements. Greenery adorned the tall wooden posts in the reception area and hung from the chandeliers. It was dreamy! Brides with an open vision allow us opportunities to provide them with something unique and special and we were so happy we got to do just that for our friends Kenzie and Andrew.
