We kicked of spring at Bradford Farm in the sweetest way with Emily and Andrew’s wedding!
This bride and groom is a love story that combines two worlds. Emily, a sweet school teacher from North Alabama, met her groom that was working here but is originally from Alaska! Yes, I said that right-Alaska. Emily is an only child while Andrew is one of four with his two sister and brother living all over the US. So Emily, buckle up-you are set out to see the world with this groom.
Emily and Andrew chose inside the chapel for their ceremony site. Glass cylinders with floating candles and ruscus lined the aisle. Our new white cross-back chairs gave the chapel a new elegant look for this Saturday afternoon ceremony. Our wooden circle was center stage for the “I dos” decorated with greenery, white florals with just a hint of pink. Bridesmaids wore a charcoal gray flowing off the should dress and carried pink tulips. Groom and his guys were decked out in navy suits and Emily was breathtaking in her gown and cathedral length veil she chose from The Something Blue Shop.
At the conclusion of the ceremony the bride and groom were whisked away for dinner alone and sunset photos while guests dined on one of Southern Skillets top favored meals-Tuscan Chicken and Brisket. The bride and groom entered the reception hall and had their first dance and then cut the delicious three-tiered red velvet cake covered with buttercream icing and the grooms confetti cake that was decorated with the blue mountains of Alaska. Both cakes were to die for! Our Bradford Farms team have become quite a group of cake connoisseur’s over the past few years and these cakes are on the top of our ranking list.
We are always wanting to bring something different to the table on wedding days and over our break we stumbled across a way to ensure that the bride and groom got a photo with every guest. After the dances, Heather Bradford Sherrill, the photographer teamed up with Gus Spears the DJ and made a game of the bride and groom racing to each table while Heather snapped a shot of the new Mr. and Mrs. with all their guests. We are kicking ourselves for not finding out about this idea earlier but look forward to offering it to all our couples in the future. Reception dancing ensued and the new couple enjoyed their time with family and friends before exiting onto our patio surrounded by cheering guests and cool sparks offered by Gus Spears and his team at Universal Sound and Events.
Emily and Andrew, y’all were the perfect way to kick-off spring wedding season! We have a few fun memories and unforgettable moments we shared with you on your wedding day but we will keep them to ourselves! It was a beautiful, picture perfect day and we are so glad you picked us to share it with! Have fun in Mexico!!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Young!
